Eurospirit 2013

On Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th May, we went with a whole team of our church to the Eurospirit conference in Amsterdam. It was established by Bert and Ellen Panhuise and they have been organizing this conference for 22 years now, bringing quite a number of important Christian speakers to Holland. Eurospirit also provides TV broadcasts throughout Europe. Each conference new material is recorded. The location this year was the Apollohall with a capacity of 2500 people. This year’s speakers were Benny Hinn, Jaap Kooij and our Hugo.

Gods Ambassade also had a booth stand to present their activities to the visitors of the conference.

A few weeks before the conference Danny set to work with a team of people to improve the booth stand and make it more captivating than ever. Together with Carine and François the display panels were thoroughly revised and refreshed. . . they brainstormed for days but the result was superb! Our booth stand, though clear in the back, was clearly visible with the beautiful and illuminated panels. On Monday before the conference Sam and Philippe build a new support for the panels… it was a beautifully finished whole. There was a large vase with the words “taste and see that God is good” filled with heart shaped sweets, it attracted both young and old. There was a lot of material of Gods Ambassade church on display and a big jar with blessing notes nicely wrapped with festive ribbons. Many people of the church had helped till the very last day rolling these little notes and tying them with ribbons. . .

These blessing cards were very special. You saw people receiving their blessing on the spot. You could read it in their eyes. People cheered up! A young man from Iran was so blessed that he kept returning, each time with another family member to get a blessing note for them. Even when we were already packing up, people kept coming to take more blessing notes!

An occasional choir did the praise worship led by a mother and daughter, Muriël and Talitha from Suriname. Both sang extraordinarily beautiful. . . a powerful, blessed worship. This was continued at night with worship led by Benny Hinn followed by a solid teaching and powerful service. Many people accepted Christ and many were healed from various ailments.

Thursday afternoon Jaap Kooij, a Dutch evangelist from the very beginning, talked passionately about the restoration of the church.

Thursday morning it was Hugo’s turn. He spoke in his wonderfully endearing way about “3 ½ Euro that can change your life” Quite a few people were deeply touched by Hugo’s words. He had also introduced the co-workers -who were all wearing a white nurse apron- who cannot stand someone remains sick. After his message people flocked our booth stand. A big team of co-workers prayed with people for hours. People were encouraged, were healed on the spot, they were very happy or could cry out with someone . . . very special! There was a very strong anointing and people kept coming. Stacks of free materials were handed out.

Harry, one of our co-workers who doesn’t like being to the fore, received while praying, the week before the conference, a word that God would help him to be more confident. Right after Hugo’s message Harry was asked to pray for someone, he did it and then quickly ‘disappeared’ in the men’ s room so he wouldn’t have to pray. Coming back from the restroom people wanting prayer asked him again and again . . .he too was wearing a white nurse apron! That’s what happens when Father asks you to stick your head above the parapet. . .

All the co-workers worked very hard, but each one considered it a privilege to be part of such a tremendous team and to serve together. . .

Danny had found us a wonderful hotel barely 10 min. drive from the Apollohall. Normally this kind of room is very expensive but there was a special offer and many of us received a super reduction. We were –as it befits Father’s children- pampered as royalty in a marvelous room with a delicious Burgundian breakfast.

And here is a reaction of Myriam, one of our Dutch church members, who unexpectedly joined in:

“One day before the Eurospirit conference started I received an offer to come along, everything arranged and paid for. I just needed to hop in the car. Thank you Jesus! The major reason for me to go: just a few days away from the children…. very relaxed and nothing that has to be done or taken care of, not having to have opinions about anything… just relax and see what’s coming.

I’m proud of Hugo that he (and it is not the first time) spoke at such a big conference in Holland. Can you imagine, our Hugo in his simplicity in the same spot as Benny Hinn! You sure need guts to stand as a Flemish person between all these Dutch people –who always know so well. Hugo has the talent to build bridges between countries and strike the right chord.

I think the message of Gods Ambassade is so simple and so pure everyone’s heart just melts, also the Dutch. Proof is the many people that came for prayer. I’m sure that hearts were touched by the love of the Father! Again it struck me that the place for praying for healing and recovery is within the church communities and not at large meetings. People tend to get lost quickly and can get disappointed... then where can they go? Within the church community there is the opportunity to give aftercare and protection. Here is an enormous need!

It was so good to be as a (GA) group at such a big event. It is so immense and I can feel so small in such a crowd. A small group of people that know and love each other, being together within this enormous crowd, that is a real delight.
